Community Guidelines
Last updated September 9, 2026
The Wall of Hope only works if it feels safe to read on a hard day. Every post is read by our team before it goes live, using the guidelines below.
What we welcome
- Short messages of encouragement, warmth, or solidarity
- Honest reflections on getting through a hard time
- Reminders that things can and do get better
What we won't publish
- Specific methods, means, or details of self-harm or suicide
- Names, contact details, or other identifying information about yourself or anyone else
- Links, advertising, or requests to contact you elsewhere
- Hate speech, harassment, or content targeting a person or group
- Anything that reads as mocking, dismissive, or likely to make someone reading it on a bad day feel worse
A post that doesn't fit can be declined or lightly edited (for length or identifying details) without notice. This isn't a judgment on what you wrote, it's about keeping the wall safe for whoever reads it next.
Talking with our team
Talk conversations are one-to-one with a Safe Harbor team member, not with other visitors. Please don't use it to harass or abuse a team member, and know that a team member can end a conversation if that happens. See our Terms of Service for the full picture, including what we can and can't do if you tell us you're in immediate danger.
Report a problem
If you see something on the Wall of Hope that shouldn't be there, or something went wrong in a conversation, let us know at [email protected].
